BENGALURU: The Food and Civil Supplies Department is scrutinising ineligible ration‑card holders in Bengaluru city and about 80,000 ration cards are being reviewed. Only those ineligible cardholders who submit the required documents will remain in the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category. If they do not submit the required documents, their cards will be shifted to APL (Above Poverty Line).
If beneficiaries fail to provide information about their status, that will be moved to APL in the four taluks of the Bengaluru city district.The central government has sent a list of ineligible cards in Bengaluru city district to the state Food Department and the revision process is now ongoing.
