Reckless driving: York Road

On Oct. 27, police observed a 2012 Hyundai traveling 65 mph in a 35 mph zone of York Road.

The vehicle took off at high speeds, which prompted the officer to cancel the pursuit for safety reasons.

However, another officer clocked the Hyundai traveling 113 mph before later being located on Elmwood Oval.

When told about how fast he had been driving, the Brook Park driver said, “I don’t think I was.”

After exiting the vehicle -- which had a license plate lying flat adjacent to the back window -- the man became agitated because the officer wouldn’t roll up his car window even though it was raining.

The driver was arrested for failure to comply, reckless operation, speeding and illegal display of license plates.
