Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Aaron Rodgers has a fracture in his left wrist that doesn’t need surgery but did not rule the possibility he could play Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Tomlin said there are several concerns about Rodgers playing against the Bears, including his own safety and comfortability. But he won’t know sure if the former four-time league MVP can play against the Bears until Friday at the earliest.
“It’s about stabilizing the wrist and making sure it’s safe,” Tomlin said during his weekly Tuesday news conference. “He wanted to go back in against the Bengals. But it’s also about how effective he can be.”
If Rodgers is unable to play, Mason Rudolph will make his first regular season start since the Steelers playoff loss in Buffalo on Jan. 15, 2024.
