The Enforcement Directorate's (ED) Bengaluru zone conducted searches on online gaming companies WinZO and GamezKraft (operator of Pocket52.com) on Tuesday (November 18), sources told CNBC-TV18.

A total of 11 premises were covered, including five in Bengaluru, four in Delhi and two in Gurugram. The searches were conducted at the corporate offices of both companies and the residences of their CEOs, COOs and CFOs.

The action was based on FIRs filed by alleged victims, who claimed that the gaming platforms manipulated their algorithms to put players at a disadvantage. Early findings from the searches have also indicated that promoters of the companies own crypto wallets, suggesting possible laundering through cryptocurrencies, the sources added.
