MANCHESTER, N.H. —
The House is scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to force the Department of Justice to release the files it has collected on Jeffrey Epstein.
The vote is taking place after Democrats and a handful of Republicans pushed Speaker Mike Johnson, who had resisted, to bring the measure forward.
The bill would require the DOJ to release all Epstein-related case files, allowing redactions to protect victims but not to shield public figures.
President Donald Trump had previously downplayed the files for months.
In a Truth Social post over the summer, he wrote: "Their new scam is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein hoax, and my past supporters have bought into this 'B-S,' hook, line, and sinker."
