Legends of snooker and golf met up in Dubai last week as Ronnie O’Sullivan and Rory McIlroy chatted about the pressures of elite sport.
McIlroy was playing at the DP World Tour Championship, where he ultimately was beaten in a play-off by Matt Fitzpatrick.
The Rocket now lives in Dubai and popped into the Earth Course to chat to some of the world’s best golfers.
Not only did the seven-time world champ want to pick their brains, but he was interested to see the ball-striking of golf’s elite, fascinated by the mechanics of it.
‘I’d always wanted to watch a professional golfer hit a ball, like a proper professional,’ O’Sullivan said. ‘Obviously living in Dubai now, it’s easier to get to events, just up the road. It’s just a lot easier and someone got me access there.’
