LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Husker running back Emmett Johnson has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the 2025 Doak Walker National Collegiate Running Back Award, Nebraska Athletics announced Tuesday.
Johnson enters this week’s matchup at Penn State ranked among the nation’s top five in both yards from scrimmage and rushing yards. He’s totaled 1,431 yards from scrimmage this season, the most among all Power Conference players and second nationally.
On the ground, the Minneapolis native has rushed for 1,131 yards and 11 touchdowns, ranking fourth nationally in rushing yards per game and fifth in total rushing yards.
Johnson has also been a key factor in the passing game, pulling in 36 receptions for 300 yards and three scores, the third-most catches by any running back in the country.
