Lane Kiffin is the hottest name in college football at the moment.

Kiffin has led No. 6 Mississippi to a 10-1 record 12 weeks through the 2025 college football season, where the Rebels are positioned for a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff field as a No. 7 seed ahead of the third set of CFP rankings.

He is also the top name of the coaching carousel, potentially as a candidate for both the Florida and LSU head coaching positions.

With Kiffin weighing his future beyond the 2025 season, reports emerged on Monday, Nov. 17 that Ole Miss gave Kiffin an ultimatum to decide his future at Ole Miss, setting a deadline of Friday, Nov. 27: the day Ole Miss plays rival Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.

Kiffin joined "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday Nov. 18 and denied any ultimatum had come from the Ole Miss administration.

"That's absolutely not true," Kiffin said on. "There's been no ultimatum, anything like that at all. I don't know where that came from, like a lot of the stuff that comes out there. Like I said, we're having a blast. I love it here.

"It just couldn't be better. You pray for things, our fans prayed for this type of thing. So enjoy it. You're 10-1, you're getting ready, you have a bye week. You get to watch half the country lose and there's no way we can lose Saturday and then we play the Egg Bowl, and then you go dominate that and keep the Egg Bowl trophy home, where it's been a long time."

Kiffin and the Rebels have an open date in Week 12 before their regular season-ending game against Mississippi State.
