Lafayette, IN --- Greater Lafayette families in need will have access to thousands of pounds of Thanksgiving essentials this holiday season thanks to a $5,000 donation from Duke Energy to Food Finders Food Bank. The contribution translates to 22,000 pounds of holiday staples—all available free of charge to anyone seeking assistance.
Aisles inside Food Finders are fully stocked with macaroni and cheese, stuffing mix, gravy, chicken, dairy products, fresh produce and more. The organization is preparing for one of its busiest weeks of the year as households look for extra support ahead of Thanksgiving.
Joseph Harper, Director of Fresh Market and Volunteer Engagement, said the food bank is expecting 1,200 households on Tuesday alone, and roughly 10,000 people by the end of the week.
