An Australian army soldier who was killed during a training tragedy near Townsville has been identified as 26-year-old Tulsa Rumney.
Mr Rumney suffered serious injuries in the army truck rollover on Wednesday evening and was unable to be saved.
It is understood the crash, which also injured two other soldiers, occurred in the High Range Training Area in Hervey Range just 50km from Townsville.
The other two soldiers were taken to Townsville University Hospital in stable conditions.
Acting Prime Minister Richard Marles confirmed Mr Rumney’s death earlier today before he was later identified.
“My thoughts are with the family, friends, loved ones and colleagues of the Australian Army soldier who has sadly passed away following a training incident near Townsville last night,” he wrote on X
