FAYETTEVILLE -- A Washington County judge sentenced a man to 126 years in prison Monday after he was found guilty of sex crimes involving a child.
Following a one-day trial, a jury found Leonardo Pagan-Medina, 37, of Emma Avenue in Springdale guilty of three counts of rape of a child less than 14 years of age and one count of sexually grooming a child, according to a news release from 4th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Brandon Carter. The 4th Judicial District covers Washington and Madison counties.
The jury recommended Pagan-Medina serve 40 years on each of the three rape counts and six years on the sexual grooming charge, all to run consecutively for a total of 126 years. Circuit Judge Beth Storey Bryan presided over the hearing and accepted the jury's recommended sentence.
