The New York Yankees had one of the more intriguing free agents of the winter on their team this season.

Two-time All-Star closer Devin Williams was a fairly big disappointment for the Yankees, though he performed better down the. stretch and in the playoffs than he did during his highly-publicized struggles this summer. But nearly every peripheral stat and stuff metric still indicates that Williams ranks among the elite relievers in the game.

Though the Yankees would be unwise to close the door on a reunion with Williams, they might find that other teams are more enthusiastic about pursuing him than they ever could be after the mediocre year he just had. And that list of teams appears to include the Yankees' crosstown rival.
