The Government has reassured parents after false claims suggesting that taking paracetamol during pregnancy can cause autism sparked 'concern' among families.
It comes after Donald Trump said in September there had been a "meteoric rise" in cases of autism and suggested that taking Tylenol - known as paracetamol in the UK - during pregnancy is a potential cause.
In a news conference at the White House, the US president suggested pregnant women should "tough it out" instead of taking the painkiller.
However, Health Secretary Wes Streeting told expectant mothers to ignore Trump's message and a number of autism campaigners, scientists and major medical groups refuted the claims.
