STURGIS - There was some scuttlebutt prior to the swim season that Sturgis would be left out of the MHSAA state finals this year.

But, with some hard work and dedication from swimmers, the Trojans will once again be represented at the Division 3 finals this year.

Ainsley Gump qualified for the finals in several individual events this year. She was also part of a pair of relays that went into the conference finals without a spot in the D3 finals, but they were able to come together and punch their tickets in a pair of races.

So once again, Trojan head coach Lisa Gottschalk will be hanging out with members of her team in Holland. The D3 state swim and dive finals are held at Holland Aquatic Center and take place on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-22.
