Marshall University football earned a fundamentally strong win over Georgia State on Saturday to climb within one game of bowl eligibility.

With it comes the weekly mailbag, a bit more active this time around.

THE CROWD: User Rus asked if Georgia State was counting the Georgia Aquarium in its reported attendance total of 12,871.

I genuinely think that Saturday’s game might have been the worst crowd I’ve ever seen for a football game, and I grew up in a high school with 300 kids in it.

Part of it is due to the size of the stadium. It’s the former home of the Atlanta Braves and was also used for the Olympics. The stadium could seat 85,000 people when it was used for the 1996 Summer Olympics and later was converted for baseball. Then called Turner Field, it had a capacity of 49,586.
