SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - About 350 middle and high school students got hands-on learning experience, as they took part in the 20th Annual Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge: a fast-paced Wall Street simulation in which students compete to build the highest portfolio net worth in 60 simulated “trading days.”

It started at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, with the trading floor opening and the opening bell.

Students then started buying and selling using a real-time stock board, with the goal of empowering the students with financial literacy and teamwork, while also making them aware of careers in finance.
