NEW DELHI: Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal Tuesday said there was "no hiatus" in the Indo-US relationship and that "you will hear good news" on a trade deal once it is fair, equitable, and balanced. Goyal described the bilateral partnership as "very important and very strategic" and said negotiations were a process that should protect India's stakeholders like farmers, fishermen, small industry, and workers. "When we find the right balance, you can rest assured we will get outcomes," he said. The minister pointed to recent steps, such as the 10-year defence pact signed between the two nations as well as the LPG supply agreement for about 2.2 million tonnes per annum, arguing that they are for the long-term. "We both are equally committed to expanding trade and commerce,"
