Jammu: The administration of Government Medical College and Sri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) hospitals on Tuesday checked the lockers belonging to staff, students and doctors.
An official said that the lockers were checked as part of a drill amid tight security arrangements. “Keys were sought from the holders. Lockers will be checked and re-allotted,” the official added.
Last week authorities conducted a locker checking exercise at the Government Medical College and SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, to identify and label the personal lockers. The circular to conduct the checking was issued by the Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Srinagar, after an AK rifle was recovered from the locker of a doctor in Anantnag.
