FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Some Georgia voters will head to the polls on Tuesday for a special election in a state Senate race.

Voters will decide who will replace State Sen. Jason Esteves in District 35. The district includes parts of Cobb and Fulton counties. Esteves resigned from the seat back in September to focus on his 2026 campaign for governor.

“One thing has become clear from my time in the Senate: the challenges Georgia is facing require bold solutions and new leadership in the governor’s office," Esteves said in a statement at the time. "That’s why I’m resigning from the State Senate — because the best way I can serve the people of Georgia is by putting my whole heart into this campaign."

There are six candidates on the ballot vying to fill Esteves' unexpired term:
