CITYWIDE — Last-mile delivery has been a boon to urban consumers, accelerating in New York City from 1.8 million to 2.3 million packages a day. But there’s been a tough price to pay for workers, according to Comptroller Brad Lander, who delivered a report on the steps of City Hall Monday, Nov. 17, called “Fast Shipping. Slow Justice: Traffic, Worker and Climate Hazards in Last Mile Delivery.”
The report used data from the Department of City Planning to look at the increased development of “last-mile” facilities for delivering packages to their final destinations throughout NYC.
