Cambridge councillors spent a long meeting Monday night talking through several suggested changes to the proposed 2026 strong-mayor budget.

No votes were taken.

The mayor said the goal of the meeting was “to present the proposed amendments received so far and allow council to ask questions of each other.”

Outdoor festival grounds

The first discussion was about a plan to build an outdoor festival site, proposed near Savage Drive in Ward 7, for concerts and community events. The city set aside $750,000 for design work, planning and early site preparation, but the full project would cost much more in the future.
