As he talked about the House settlement, Idaho State head football coach Cody Hawkins brought up a scene from the 2016 movie “Central Intelligence.”

“I need to know what is happening, right now,” Kevin Hart’s character says to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character in the scene .

“OK, OK, moving too fast,” Johnson’s character replies. “Bottom line: Are you in, or are you out?”

“What are you talking about?” Hart’s character responds. “In or out of what?”

Hawkins and other leaders in NCAA athletics were faced with a similar question earlier this year: Are you opting in or opting out of the House settlement?

The settlement, which was approved in June and went into effect July 1 , forced the NCAA to pay $2.8 billion in back damages to former college athletes. It also set roster limit
