OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A man is hospitalized after he was shot in the back of an Uber Tuesday evening.

Omaha Police responded to the area of 47th and Fort Streets at about 5 p.m.

A 19-year-old got into the back of an Uber nearby and was shot while in the back of the vehicle, police said. The Uber driver stopped the car near 52nd and Hartman Avenue.

The man was taken to Nebraska Medicine.

The investigation is ongoing.
