To decongest Northwest Delhi’s Khera Kalan near Rohini the Public Works Department (PWD), in association with Northern Railways, is planning to construct a flyover and two underpasses to provide a smooth connectivity between Khera Kalan to Khera Khurd Road.
Currently, there is a manned railway crossing on the stretch, which is part of the Delhi -Ambala railway line that leads to heavy traffic jams especially during peak hours. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 109 crore.
Under the proposed corridor improvement project plan, a four-lane railway overbridge or flyover, along with two five-metre-wide railway underpasses, including a 1.2-metre footpath for pedestrian movement, have been planned.
