WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - When a crisis happens, we like to think we know what we would do.
Near midnight on November 10, a violent crash occurred with the vehicle catching flames.
One man, without hesitation, ran into the fray to help.
That night, Luke Meikamp was working a fiber optic cutover in Watertown when.
“I was like something’s on fire. Something isn’t right, you know, I just knew something wasn’t right,” said Meikamp.
According to the Codington County Sheriff’s Office, that turned out to be a vehicle that had entered the construction zone and rolled over after hitting machinery.
“It was kind of like a dream or, you know, something you see, like, felt like it was a TV show or something. It was just, it didn’t feel real, you know,” said Meikamp.
