SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame women’s soccer team has found success all season long, and that continued in Saturday’s first round NCAA Tournament matchup when the No. 1 seeded Irish defeated UIC 4-0 to advance to the second round.
With Saturday’s win, Notre Dame (15-1-3) remains undefeated at home this season at 10-0 and improves to 53-4-1 at home in NCAA Tournament play.
The Irish will now host Ohio State in South Bend on Thursday. The Buckeyes enter the matchup after a 2-0 victory over Georgia in the first round.
Notre Dame head coach Nate Norman said Ohio State presents a challenge.
“I think they are a really good team. I think they have only given up 11 goals all season, they take a lot of pride in the way they defend,” Norman said. “That’s something for us we have to
