KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Tuesday, the University of Tennessee Police Department posted on Facebook, congratulating K-9 Bruno on his well-earned retirement!

K9 Bruno joined Cpl. Jeffery Quirin was in 2018 when he was just 18 months old. Born in Germany and trained in Poland, he came to the United States through Iron Heart High Performance Working Dogs in Shawnee, Kansas.

Bruno served for seven years and excelled in detecting narcotics, assisting in capturing offenders and protecting his handler in dangerous situations, according to UTPD.

Bruno also aided in tracking missing individuals or suspects and assisting in searches across open fields and buildings.
