JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida's Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins told a crowd of Jacksonville seniors and reporters to 'stay tuned' for a possible announcement on his campaign for governor.
During a press conference in Jacksonville Tuesday, First Coast News asked Collins if he was ramping up for an announcement after campaign-style ads were put out days earlier. The non-profit organization 'Florida Fighters' released ads in support of Collins.
"I'm very grateful for whatever group that was that put those out there, and here's the deal: this is a big decision to get involved in a gubernatorial race, it really is. I am really tired of politicians who pat themselves on the back and put their ego first. It's just not the way we need to do things," Collins explained.
