The nominees for Game of the Year (GOTY) 2025 have been announced for The Game Awards , but not everyone's favorite title was put on the same pedestal. This isn't surprising, considering how 2025 was a year full of stellar games, so, of course, a few were inevitably going to be left out. However, some games fans wish to see win GOTY are bound to take other important categories.

There were six nominations for GOTY , each including incredibly innovative titles for their respective genres. Some contenders that were also voted for GOTY are still heavily present , even if they weren't included among the few selected for the event's highest honor. This gives players a chance to vote for their personal GOTY choices in other subjects, allowing fan-favorites to still shine.
