NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — The School District of Newberry County has officially selected Dr. Chan Anderson as its permanent superintendent, following a unanimous vote by the Board of Trustees on Monday, November 17. The decision formalizes the leadership role he has held in an interim capacity since July 1.

Officials say Dr. Anderson has spent the past several months prioritizing community engagement, visiting schools, and meeting with students, staff, and families to build trust and transparency.

Board Chair Lucy Anne Meetze praised his steady leadership and commitment to the district’s goals.
