David Berdecia can now say he had one of the most productive seasons a receiver has ever had at Westfield.
Following the Bombers’ season-capping win over Agawam last week , the sophomore closed out the fall with 723 total receiving yards, a new single-season record. The previous record was set by Bailey Collier, who finished a season with 638 receiving yards.
Berdecia and Westfield quarterback Aiden Purdy were one of the most productive QB-WR pairings in Western Massachusetts this season. Purdy also made history in the team’s last game, becoming the program’s all-time, single-season leader in passing yards and touchdowns.
Westfield finished its season with an overall record of 4-6 and a record of 1-4 in the AA League.
