San Francisco is once again ramping up public safety at Union Square as the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear.

Police will be doubling officers on patrol in and around Union Square during the holidays.

The goal among city leaders is to do all they can to draw visitors back to the famed Bay Area holiday shopping hub.
