Louisville football's consecutive losses caused the Cardinals to drop out of the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.
The team fell to Clemson , 20-19, a week removed from a 29-26 overtime loss to California . Despite having earned bowl eligibility a month ago, U of L (7-3, 4-3 ACC) is officially out of the ACC championship and CFP pictures. It'll still look to reach at least nine wins for a third straight season when it plays at SMU before hosting Kentucky in the Governor's Cup for the regular-season finale.
