SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The last time Notre Dame had a Heisman candidate was in 2012, when Manti Teo, finished second in the voting.
Now, it's Jeremyiah Love that has fans and hopefully this is the year he returns the trophy back to South Bend.
To Kickoff his campaign, they enlisted the help of 1988 Notre Dame grad and award winning a author, Nicolas Sparks, to read A Love Letter.
Since 1988, five running backs, have hoisted the Heisman trophy: Ricky Williams, Ron Dayne, Reggie Bush, Mark Ingram, and Derrick Henry. Statistically Jeremyiah Love is on par with the previous five.
Bush had 1,720 yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 477 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, 2,197 all
