County Council approves $2.5M to help food banks, other nonprofits affected by shutdown

The Frederick County Council on Tuesday approved $2.5 million in funding for County Executive Jessica Fitzwater's proposal to provide assistance to food pantries and other nonprofit groups hurt by the recent federal government shutdown.

The vote was 6-1.
