Who saw that coming?
The U.S. men's national team completely crushed Uruguay 5-1 Tuesday in the second and last friendly of the November break -- as well as ending its 2025 calendar on a high note.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino went in with an almost entirely fresh starting 11 from Saturday's 2-1 win vs. Paraguay.
Uruguay opened with a solid 11 of its own following a scoreless draw to Mexico, as Ronald Araujo, Mathias Olivera and Matias Vina were among the defenders while Manuel Ugarte and Rodrigo Bentancur formed the midfield double pivot.
But once the U.S. opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Uruguay rarely had a sniff.
The scoring began with midfielder Sebastian Berhalter curling in a worldie in just the 17th minute. On a free kick from the left flank -- almost a short corner
