Wesley Yates III spent the 2023-24 season on the Washington bench, unable to play because of a foot injury.
With changes to the Huskies' coaching staff following that campaign, Yates transferred to Southern California, where he led all Big Ten freshmen with an average of 14.1 points per game in conference play.
Now he is back at Washington and feeling just fine.
The Huskies (3-1) will play host to Southern (2-2) on Tuesday night in Seattle, and Yates enters the contest sharing the team lead with a 15.3-point scoring average.
Yates scored a season-best 26 points and tied a career high with seven rebounds as the Huskies defeated host Washington State 81-69 on Friday in the basketball version of the Apple Cup rivalry.
