MANSFIELD — Usually, it’s wise to go either around or over walls. That wasn’t an option for Hull’s Brianna Ramos.

The sophomore midfielder instead went right through a wall of defenders on No. 2 Hopedale, and it made the ultimate difference for the third-seeded Pirates in the Division 5 state girls soccer semifinals Tuesday night.

Ramos sliced through seven Hopedale defenders late in the second half on her way to netting the only goal to secure a 1-0 victory for Hull at Mansfield High’s Alumni Field. Ramos’ goal sends the Pirates (12-5-3) back to the state final for a second consecutive year, where they will face No. 4 Monson at Curry College on Saturday (12:15 p.m.).
