FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Convenience store owners are set to meet with the Buckland and Shelburne Boards of Health, pushing back against a possible generational nicotine ban.
Health Board Committee members will be reviewing a proposed change to local bylaws on Wednesday night, which would prevent adults born on or after a certain date from *ever buying nicotine or tobacco products in either town.
That includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and nicotine pouches.
Similar bylaws have been met with push back recently in Belchertown and South Hadley, and in Westfield it was rejected.
Wednesday’s listening session is being held at Buckland Town Hall at 6 p.m.
Neighbors opposing this potential change are encouraged to attend and speak out.
