ASHEVILLE – For the second straight year, Reynolds boys soccer had a bid to reach the state championship game.

For the second straight year, the Rockets fell short.

Despite playing with a man advantage for most of the second half, No. 1 Reynolds (22-4) couldn’t overcome a scoring barrage in a 3-0 loss to No. 2 Charlotte Catholic (21-4-1), ending its season in the 6A Western Regional final Nov. 18 at R.L. Dalton Stadium.
