The final days of Dr Umar Nabi, the assistant professor who detonated himself in a car laden with explosives near Delhi’s Red Fort, have now come to light. Dr Nabi, who taught in the Department of Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, spent 10 days hidden away in a rented room in Hidayat Colony, Nuh, under highly suspicious and unhygienic conditions.

According to investigators, Dr Nabi confined himself to a small room for 10 days and did not step outside even to use the toilet. Instead, he defecated inside the room, collected faeces in plastic bags, and urinated on the walls. He neither bathed nor changed his clothes during this entire period.
