BARNESVILLE, Minn. — As you head out to shop for the big Thanksgiving feast, there are a couple of things you can do to save some money on your meal.
The aisles at Barnesville Grocery have been busy, with shoppers browsing for gravy, stuffing and turkey while trying to save some dough on rolls and pinch pennies on pies.
"Basically a matter of math. You have to add it up and make sure you don’t go broke eating so much," said shopper Wesley Saxe.
Even with rising grocery prices, big hitters like beef and eggs are not traditional Thanksgiving fare, which has kept costs about the same as last year.
"It’s not so much a high price thing, it’s where are people going to make that meal," said Thomas Gonser, owner of Barnesville Grocery.
