LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Parents in Logan County fear they may lose Verdunville Elementary School which closed its doors after a rockslide in April.
“Losing the school right now is like devastating for us,” parent Victoria Adams said. “I mean, I have so much history there, I mean my whole family has went there.”
The Board of Education hosted public hearings to discuss the potential closure of Verdunville and a merger with Omar Elementary where the students have been all school year.
The idea has parents, including Billy Reeves, concerned about losing what’s left of their community.
