VILLAGE OF DEFOREST, Wis. (WKOW) -- Quality Technology Services (QTS) presented its plan to the Village of DeForest for a new data center in between DeForest and the Town of Vienna.

Hundreds of people packed into DeForest Area High School for Tuesday night's Village Board Meeting.

Lines to get in the building went out the door, with crowds of people filling up doorways and some being told to go home or listen over Zoom due to room capacity.

Many attended to learn more about the data center QTS is proposing to build, with QTS Co-CEO Tag Greason saying the project will benefit the DeForest community.

"What a data center does to a region is it creates an ecosystem of support jobs. So now you have people coming into the data center to do repair work or upgrades," Greason said.
