Conway voters on Tuesday approved a pair of sales tax increases for public safety and street and drainage improvements but rejected a third proposed increase that would have allowed the city to issue bonds to pay for music and arts venues, a convention center and improvements to Lake Conway.
The two tax measures that were approved total 0.375%. They will increase the city's sales tax rate from 1.75% to 2.125%.
One of the two taxes is a 0.25% tax for public safety capital improvements, with money designated for fire trucks and other public safety equipment.
