CENTRAL ILLINOIS( 25News Now ) - The opening week of the High School Girls’ Basketball season continues with another action-packed night of games all across the area.

In tournament play, Peoria Notre Dame and Limestone both notched victories at the Pontiac Tip-Off, LeRoy picked up their second win of the Lexington Classic over the hosts, and Eureka held off Clinton in the Hornets’ Hoopsgiving on a buzzer-beater. Morton, Dunlap, Metamora, and Lewistown also picked up opening-week victories.

Three East Peoria baseball stars signed their names on the dotted line and made their college commitments official.

RJ Duncheon will continue the family legacy at Illinois State, where both his mom and dad are in the Redbirds Hall of Fame. Jackson Ahrens signs to play at Kirkwood CC, and Auggie Lohn
