CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 61-year-old LaGrange man died Tuesday after he failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a school bus in Lorain County.
Allan D. Toothman was driving a 2006 Buick eastbound on Parsons Road about 9:35 a.m. when he failed to yield at the intersection with Ohio 301, according to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Elyria Post.
A Keystone Local School District bus traveling southbound on the state route struck the Buick, causing the bus to overturn, authorities said.
EMS transported Toothman to a hospital, where he later died.
The school bus was not transporting students at the time of the crash. The 47-year-old driver and a 51-year-old aide were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.
