Most clubs who are top of the league and challenging for a title might be tempted to panic buy in January in a bid to stay there.
But that won’t be Hearts .
For a start, Derek McInnes is far too calm and experienced a gaffer to do that.
In this transfer window, I reckon he’ll just want to tweak and fine tune this Tynecastle squad for the second half of the season.
And it’s hard to argue against that, given how well they’ve done up until now .
Of course, Derek will want to strengthen, especially if they’re still Premiership leaders in the New Year.
But neither he nor Tony Bloom will go gung-ho at this stage.
For me, two key things must happen in January for Hearts.
