Stockton names Johnny Ford as new city manager after months of turmoil

Stockton has named Johnny Ford its new city manager after a unanimous City Council vote capped nearly 10 months of uncertainty at City Hall. Ford, who previously served Stockton as deputy city manager and parks and recreation director, was selected following an extensive search. He brings nearly 30 years of public service experience, including most recently serving as city manager in Compton. His appointment follows turmoil involving former interim city manager Steve Colangelo and concerns over misuse of city funds. Ford begins the role November 19.
