Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, wanted for his involvement in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, was deported from the United States and arrived at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Wednesday. Upon his arrival, he was taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Anmol, who is the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had been absconding since 2022 and is the 19th individual arrested in connection with the terror syndicate led by his brother.

The NIA had chargesheeted Anmol in March 2023, linking him to various acts of terrorism in India from 2020 to 2023. He is also implicated in the April 2024 shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence and the May 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. A special investigation team from Punjab Police had previously identified Anmol as a conspirator in Moosewala’s murder, noting that he fled India using a fake passport shortly before the incident.

Anmol’s deportation was coordinated by the NIA, and he reportedly arrived on a special chartered flight that also carried around 200 other individuals being removed from the US. Sources indicate that two additional wanted fugitives from Punjab may have been on the same flight. Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late Baba Siddique, confirmed the deportation after receiving an official notification from the US Department of Homeland Security.

Anmol was arrested in Sacramento last November for illegal entry and was later held at a jail in Iowa while seeking asylum. The FBI confirmed his identity through DNA and voice samples. The NIA is currently investigating the broader terror-gangster conspiracy, aiming to dismantle the connections between terrorists, gangsters, and arms smugglers in India. Anmol Bishnoi is expected to be presented before a special court in Patiala soon.
